SAFETY BAY AND SHOALWATER FORESHORE

YOUR GUIDE TO SAFETY BAY AND SHOALWATER FORESHORE

Safety Bay and Shoalwater Foreshores are located along the coast of Safety Bay Road and Arcadia Drive between Malibu Road and Boundary Road.

Along the Safety Bay Foreshore (between Malibu Road and Carlisle Street) you can find playgrounds, picnic facilities, toilets and outdoor showers. There is also parking available along the coast and three boat ramps located at Donald Drive, Bent Street, and Carlisle Street.

Within this spectacular area, you will often find kite surfers and wind surfers in abundance practicing their skills at the Pond near Tern Island. This spot is one of the few locations in the world that has mirror-like flat water conditions and consistent winds making it suitable to host local and international kite surfing competitions.

If you’re interested in getting on the water at the Pond why not have a go with West Oz Kiteboarding or Seabreeze Kitesurf School? For a bite to eat after that, be sure to check out Azacca Kitchen, Bayside Barista or Cafe Barco.

Shoalwater Foreshore is located a little further north (between Carlisle Street and Boundary Road), and also includes picnic facilities, toilets and outdoor showers to wash off after a day at the beach. At the centre of Shoalwater Foreshore is Mersey Point; a central hub for tour operators that operate within the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park including Capricorn Seakayaking and Perth Wildlife Encounters.
